Rules & Expectations
CNESA rules and expectations are for the saftey of the skaters and to ensure the academy abides by Skate Canada program delivery standards. The goal is to create a productive and safe skating environment! Please see below for club rules and expectations:
A parent or guardian must be present in the arena at all times while their child is on the ice.
CNESA has a zero tolerance policy for unsportsmanlike behaviour, abusive or inappropraite language and/or verbal attacks as well as physical abuse by skaters and/or parents. Such actions will result in suspension of skating privileges.
No food or gum is allowed on the ice.
Skaters must ask permission from a coach before leaving the ice surface.
Parents may view sessions from the side of the arena, bleachers/upper viewing area or through the glass windows in the upstairs restaurant.
Parents/guardians are responsible for providing appropriate and properly maintained equipment for participants. Rentals are not available. Please speak to your coach if you have questions regarding equipment.
Parents/guardians and non-skaters are prohibited from the ice surface.
We ask parents/guardians/relatives not to "coach" their child(ren) by yelling instructions from the sidelines. Our coaches are Skate Canada NCCP certified professionals trained to teach skating at all levels of the sport.
Questions or inquiries for coaches must wait until AFTER the on ice skating session (at the end of the on-ice session). Coaches are not able to speak with parents at length during on ice sessions. During on ice sessions coaches are responsible for teaching programs and ensuring skaters are safe. Coaches are available before and after the session in the coaches room or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org. You can also phone the club at 403-923-8820.
THERE WILL BE NO REFUND OR CREDIT FOR MISSED CLASSES.
