STAR 2-5 figure skating program
The STAR 2-5 program is for skaters who have completed the STAR 1 freeskate assessment and would like to continue in the STARSkate program. The Skate Canada STAR 1-5 program introduces skaters to the sport of figure skating and its disciplines: freeskate, skills and ice dance. The goal of the program is to prepare skaters for successful completion of the STAR 2-5 assessments (tests) in freeskate, skills and ice dance.
- Skills: edges, turns, power and field moves.
- Freeskate: jump and spin technique as well as the introduction of programs to music.
- Ice Dance: dance steps and technique, pattern dances, timing and carriage.
